is a new name for three old companies.  Southeast Mutual came into being on January 1, 2001 as the result of a merger between Rollingstone Mutual Insurance Company and Rochester Farmers Mutual Insurance Company and effective January 1, 2009 Plainview Mutual Insurance Company merged into Southeast Mutual Insurance Company.

Following the merger of Rollingstone Mutual and Rochester Mutual the city of St Charles Minnesota was chosen as the location of a new office building for Southeast Mutual Insurance Company.  Construction began in July 2002 and in October of the same year we moved into our new building.

We're now settled in and working toward making Southeast Mutual a very important presence in southeastern Minnesota.  We were the first business in St. Charles to connect to a new high speed fiber optic internet connection.  With this capability, we're now accepting electronic and credit card payments from our customers.  We pride ourselves on a high standard of service to our policyholders and agents alike. 

Our structure as a township mutual is unique, in that Southeast Mutual writes the fire and extended coverages for the property and one of the companies that we package with writes the wind and liability portion of the coverages.  Our two current package companies are North Star Mutual located in Cottonwood, Minnesota and RAM Mutual Insurance Company located in Esko, Minnesota.
